Days after Crunchyroll wiped the entire Bleach catalog from their site; we finally got an answer to why. Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War will officially release on Hulu for fans in the U.S and Disney+ internationally.
For fans, is this good news or bad news? When the Bleach X Disney Plus rumor first started, Across the internet, fans feared that it would be heavily censored if Bleach, as Disney isn’t known for violent and graphic changes. The idea of censorship is especially problematic considering the nature of the Thousand-Year Blood War. However, one thing all fans should consider is that Disney Plus is changing.
Despite promises to specific groups, Disney Plus is beginning to add and create R-rated content. For example, Disney Plus currently hosts Deadpool 1, 2, and Logan, all known for graphic scenes. In each of these instances, zero censorship. There’s also Marvel Zombies, confirmed to be Rated-R.
So should you be worried about Bleach? I don’t think so. Plus, Disney should know what would come their way if they messed up the return of one of the big three.
The entire Bleach catalog is now available on Hulu. Also, if you’re looking for something to watch while you wait for Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War check out our Anime Recommendations page and find your new favorite anime!
