But even with a stronger team, there are still weak links, and the Queen will take advantage of them.
Control the Minds and the Masses Will Follow
This issue does a great job of advancing the story and moving it forward. AJ Lieberman is building a world, while upping the stakes at the same time. Building up the internal conflicts of the characters, while also showing their difficulties with the group as well. The only detraction for this issue is it’s a little slow in pacing.
The art in this issue is wonderful. The beautiful landscapes and scenery really give you a peak into this world. Mike Henderson doesn’t oversaturate the panels with too much, opting for a less cluttered approach. Meanwhile, Iñaki Azpiazu uses colors that make the world feel bleak, which matches the exact tone of the story.

Final Thoughts
The Hive #3 is a great world building issue, that moves the story forward. It gets a little slow in the middle but still delivers a story that is intriguing. This is an issue that you should pick up, along with the first 2 issues this week at the LCS. Then if you are intrigued by it, add the series to your Pull List.
Overall Grade: 8/10
