Hunting a Myth
The Shredder is preparing himself to go find the information he is in search of. He allows Agent Avon to tag along at the annoyance of the head of the authorities. They find themselves in a dive bar named The Snake Pit on the Lower East Side. Here Shredder summons a meeting with King Cobra, and just as Agent Avon thinks he’s crazy for chasing a myth, they find themselves in front of King Cobra. Shredder asks for the information for what the Mourner is building, but King Cobra feels underwhelmed by the legendary Shredder. Who will turn out to be the real threat, the legend or the myth?
Unmasking a Fraud
If you are looking for a bad ass book with a lot of action, you’ve found it. Dan Watters does an excellent job of showing just how dangerous Shredder is. While at the same time building some suspense over an unseen foe in King Cobra. The showdown is built up as an epic event that gets the reader on the edge of their seat, before revealing a truth that makes for a great twist. Some might think the twist is a cop out, but it serves a greater purpose which is to show the true ruthlessness of Shredder.
The art in this issue matches the energy of the story and brings it to life. Michele Bandini & Sid Kotian capture the action and violence of the story and turn it up a notch. The brutal fight scenes and their aftermaths are depicted in an amazing way. Marco Lesko really makes the art pop with the color selection, while Darran Robinson does an awesome job with the letters. The entire art team really worked as one, and the final product showcases this.

Final Thoughts
Shredder #2 does an awesome job of moving the story forward, well at the same time showing that the Shredder is still a legit badass. Anyone who thought they would hold back on the character in this series has been proven wrong with the actions of Shredder in this book. The TMNT Universe has been firing on all cylinders, and this series is following suit. This is a must read for TMNT fans and should definitely be added to your Pull List when you head out to the LCS this week.
Overall Grade: 9.5/10
