It’s All a Lie
As we get a little more of Ashley’s backstory, including how she was found by Dr. Molotov. We fast forward to the present and discover that not only is Molotov alive, but Ashley has held him as a prisoner. We then catch up with Nate and Tariq who are discussing that they will be staying in Lewistown for the time being. Right after Tariq gives an olive branch to Junkyard Joe.
The peace is broken as troops are on their way to Lewistown. As Nate and Joe help the citizens to the shelter, Ashley and Tariq prepare for battle. As the fight begins the concern becomes if Tariq can control his energy. But before it’s all said and done that will be the least of Ashley’s worry.
A Hidden Discovery
The story really picks up in this issue, adding to the great stakes. Geoff Johns does an amazing job of building the intrigue, well at the same time bring the danger and action. This issue encapsulates a ton of emotion and handles all of it nearly perfectly.
The art in this series continues to be breathtaking and awesome. Gary Frank finds a way to outdo himself every issue and that is no easy feat. The entire world is stunning, and all the character designs make every character unique. Brad Anderson’s color choices are stunning and are perfectly paired with the artwork.
