“Now He’s Dead”
As Spawn lies dead, Nyx must decide on either saving him or bring him back from the dead. However, if she brings him back, not only will Al Simmons get his powers back, but every other Heaven and Hell borne will get their powers back as well. Back against the wall Nyx decides to save Al and return the powers back to everyone. The allure of taking over Heaven the same way she took over Hell is too appealing.
Once Al has his powers back, he instantly revolts against Nyx through her earthly avatar. Nyx tries to teach him a lesion using the avatar, but Spawn is too strong on Earth with his powers. He defeats the avatar of Nyx with great ease and lays the challenge down to not just Nyx, but to all the beings with powers. However, will this challenge play right into the plans of Nyx overall?
King of the Dead
After the shocking conclusion of issue #360, this issue brings everything full circle. Todd McFarlane does a great job of upping the ante and setting the gears in motion for what’s to come. Also, this arc is a genius way to explain why Gunslinger and others had their powers return in their issues leading up to this one. This issue is world building at its finest.
The art in this issue is top notch and looks fantastic. Brett Booth really makes the action in this book jump off the page. Well Robert Nugent’s colors make the world and characters vibrant and truly stand out. The letters also show great emotion and really give the characters a true voice in this issue.
