Tent Revival
Written By Ed Brisson – Art By Kael Ngu – Letters By Pat Brosseau
Kristen and Jeff are on a date in the wilderness. They met on an online dating site and have built a relationship. As they set up camp for the night, a young girl named Angie wanders into their campsite, presumably separated from her friends. When Kristen goes to the tent freaked out, Angie reveals her true reason for dropping in. Now, Jeff is haunted by ghosts for his alleged sins. Is it mistaken identity or is there an evil side to Jeff?
This opening tale sets the tone for the book. Just when we think we know what’s going on, the story takes a turn. The revenge aspect of the story is very pleasing and leaves the reader fulfilled. The art is modern and looks great. The colors stand out and really make the art pop out of the panels.
Prize Possession
Written By Kami Garcia – Art By Isaac Goodheart & Miquel Muerto – Letters By Pat Brosseau
Next up is a tale of two sisters whose family moves into a troubled house. The two sisters have a troubling relationship. The older sister Katherine is jealous of her younger sister Agnes. Katherine thinks her sister gets whatever she wants and that is unfair to her. One day Katherine bullies her sister during a tea party. She threatens to throw Agnes’ favorite doll off a cliff but ends up throwing Agnes off instead. Now she has what she wants except for the doll that seems to hold a secret.
This story has two different messages wrapped into one story. On one end it shows how jealousy never pays off, well on the other hand showing be careful what you wish for. The ending twist is a perfect ending to this story as well. The art looks great and really encapsulates the world of the story.
