Allies Unite

The issue opens with the Quintesson Judge making their way back to Quintessa to deliver their findings to the council. At the same Pythona is steadfast on her mission but gets sidetracked by an unexpected confrontation with Skuxxoid’s ship.

Meanwhile on Agorria, Darak introduces Hot Rod to his father and the other Agorrians. As the people are unsure of Hot Rod and his motives, Darak decides to reveal a secret. His spaceship is a Cybertronian named Springer. As the Agorrians start to relax, Hot Rod and Springer catch up on things.

Finally, we catch up with Solila, who has been failing for what seems like forever on the Ring. As she hits bottom and starts to search around, is she prepared for what she will discover? Meanwhile, Ultum and Proximus continue their mission on Zertonia.

Mister Proximus…How Much Longer?

Void Rivals #15 continues to build on the story that is unfolding in the Void Rivals portion of the Energon Universe. Robert Kirkman shows why he is one of the most detail-oriented writers in all comics. The only issue is how much more of a slow pace is acceptable. The table is set, but the payoff isn’t in sight yet.

The art department crushes it in this issue as always. Lorenzo De Felici’s character designs are next level. Well, Patricio Delpeche color pallet really brings this world to life. This issue and series boast some truly beautiful art.

Final Thoughts

Void Rivals #15 is a table setting issue…again. It feels like the past few months have just been all build, no thrill. I keep saying that the story is building, but at this point we need a payoff, or at least a good action beat. I’m not giving up on this book, nor should you. However, the pace needs to pick up soon.

Final Grade: 7/10
