No good deed goes unpunished when you’re the best at what you do. In issue 3 we last saw Wolverine attempting to avoid Department H, while simultaneously attempting to save them. We leave him with the simple mission of saving a kid from the Wendigo curse. Meanwhile, unknowingly to Logan, half way across the world Lady Deathstrike was getting an unintentional “upgrade.”

The Story for Issue #4
Issue 4 kicks off with Logan being his true self, and trying to save the life of a kid. A kid whose only hope is an incredibly old mutant with adamantium bones, the senses of a wild animal, and the heart of gold (even if he refuses to admit it). While Logan hides out and attempts to parent a teenage wendigo (in hopes of breaking the curse), trouble of course shows up in his backyard. However, this time he can’t even seem to save himself.
The Art
Whether Wolverine is going full berserker, or Logan is chopping wood, he’s always in his head. Emotions are always on the surface with Logan, and the art in this issue captured all those feelings perfectly. In addition to the perfectly conveyed tensions in each scene, the backgrounds were beautifully detailed. All the while, the action scenes were fierce, gorgeous, and exactly what you would want from a Wolverine comic.
Wolverine #4 Rating: 9/10
This is a Wolverine comic, that any and every Wolvie fan should pick up. It’s classic Wolverine with layers of storytelling, and a new obstacle he’ll have to overcome. The friends and foes showing up have been classic yet different, creating a familiar yet new story.
This run maintains everything about Marvel’s favorite little runt so many of us fell in love with, way before Hugh Jackman blessed us with his yellow jammies (which I thank Marvel Jesus he did).
I have to give this Wolverine comic 9 out of 10 cigars. SNIKT!
