Andy was a foster kid with no real family, until recently. He finally felt he belonged. He was adopted by a lovely couple who had lost their son. Together they were bonding and healing. Until the deceased son showed up with black eyes, decaying skin, and an evil plan. Fortunately, for Andy he’s got some haunted armor to guide him as he attempts to save his new parents, himself, and quite possibly, everyone.

The Story for Issue 4:
Matt: The town is being slowly taken over by a demonic force, and Andy has a new zombie brother, which seems like an everyday regular occurrence to some members of the town. Issue #4 raises the stakes and our heart rates as Andy is now racing against time to save William and the city from a mysterious demon!
VOTE IN THIS YEARS’ CHEERSIES!
Lauren: Andy has enough on his plate, as his newly adopted parents and their deceased son try to comfort him in a creepy and threatening (but more creepy) way. As his zombie “brother” continues on his mission, Andy can’t seem to escape the hell that is his new reality, no matter where he goes. With no clue where to turn next, the only two “people” he has on his side, are fading quickly (in different ways). As Andy learns what he needs to do next, the audience learns that may be much harder than it seems.
The Art
Matt: The opening pages hit home that things are about to take a turn for the creepier as there is a haunting portrait of Myles, a zombified shell of the child he once was. Within the pages the art feels like we are walking through a museum at Halloween. The colors and shading as this darkness spreads across town are beautiful and capture our eyes instantly. The art sets the tone for this heart-pounding issue.
Lauren: The art continues to be absolutely beautiful with some definite elements of creepy. With a water color feel it’s almost calming at times, until the whole page is splashed with red and characters sporting completely black eyes. While the art stays consistent throughout, the colors set the tone perfectly for each scene.
Armored #4 Rating: 9.25/10
Matt: This issue is a 9.5/10 risen from the dead brothers. This issue has Andy on the run and his back against the wall, and he has a choice to make: should he fight or run? Armored is a wonderful ghost story that instantly transports us back to my young days reading things such as Goosebumps enticing us with an excellent character in Andy and his blossoming friendship with William
Lauren: I have to give this 9 out of 10 demon eyes. This issue really upped the ante, and put Andy into a tight spot. He hasn’t had to stand completely on his own yet, and it’s looking like our hero, may need to put on his big boy hero armor now and save the day on his own. Issue 4 also set up another interesting twist, that I’m sure we’ll see unravel in the next issue. All in all, this issue set up more mystery, more obstacles, and a few giggles along the way. Armored is a fantastic adventure ghost story with a dark deep foundation and some gorgeous watercolor pages, that has a lot of fun, and a few giggles along the way.
