Sailing the High Seas

The ThunderCats are stranded on an island with an ocean separating them from civilization. Ligon ends up finding a wreck of a boat that he is sure that he can rebuild to sail. Meanwhile, Captain Shiner goes looking for Scorpius, who is licking his wounds in a dive bar. Upon finding out that Shiner has opened a bounty on the Cats, he springs to life and takes out Shiner’s men. But well, all of this is going on, some pirates are trying to cash in on the bounty.

The Pirates Life for We

The Journey of the Lost team really takes a turn in this issue. Ed Brisson does a great job of building the constant threat of this world, well not abandoning any characters that have been established up to this point. Brisson has really expanded the ThunderCats universe and continues to push the envelope into what you can do in said universe. Even in an issue that takes a step back, the entertainment level along with the action keeps the reader captivated.

The art in this issue is great and matches the energy of the story perfectly. Rapha Lobosco does a great job with the character designs in this issue, especially with the introduction of the pirates and the sea monster. Lobosco brings the vision of the story into full focus with a great eye on detail. The colors and lettering compliment the art and really help bring emotion to the reader.

Final Thoughts

ThunderCats: Lost #6 gives us a new set of threats, well reminding us of the original threat is still alive and as dangerous as ever. This issue is an important step towards what’s to come and if this issue is an indication of that, then we are in for a hell of a ride. This series should be on your Pull List, or at the very least something you should pick up and give a chance too.

Overall Grade: 9/10
