Post Malone’s Big Rig Blasts Onto the Scene

If you read that introduction and said to yourself “WHAT?!” you’re not alone. This was a wild read to say the least. However, as obscure as the idea may be, it’s one hell of a ride! From the first to the final panel it’s action at full throttle.

It starts out pretty normal, in a way, as a horde of evil zombies descend upon a medieval village. When the church can no longer take in anymore people, a family turns to the local blacksmith. But this isn’t the normal blacksmith. This is a former man of the cloth, a former Templar even.

Superman Easter Eggs Explained!

The Six Petals perform a ritual and ask for help from God. What appears to be a meteor comes crashing down, demolishing the village and leaving a tractor trailer with a hat on the dash. When the blacksmith puts the hat on, he becomes “Trucker”, a force of good like nothing these people have ever seen!

Post Malone’s Big Rig Hauls a Load of Inspiration

This story was almost confusing to me until it hit me, this is Army of Darkness! The evil forces remind me so much of Deadites going up against the steel and gas of the 20th century. After that thought invaded my mind this book became a totally different experience. Campy horror and action movies inspire everything from dialogue to creature creations to character tropes!

The Toxic Avenger #1 – The Toxic Mutant Adventures Continue

Post Malone & Adrian Wassel take an idea that seems ridiculous and makes it a bad-ass ride from start to finish. Larger than life characters command the pages. Creature creations, brutal violence, and gory horror raise the suspense. Edda and Batu add a fascinating wrinkle to Truckers journey. Nothing is off limits in this world and that is exciting!

The Art of the Big Rig Trucker

The artwork in Big Rig is dark and gritty. The book is predominantly black and white with hints of red. Nathan Gooden brings the brutality of Barbaric to Big Rig. Now, he gets to kick up a notch with a big rig and machine guns! The monsters are oozing with evil and intimidation. The world is so dark and gritty. The whole tone of the book is complimented from story to artwork.

Overall Grade 8.8/10

Post Malone’s Big Rig is a wild ride. Something so out of this world as a tractor trailer plowing through the middle ages is so absurd that it works. Like I stated before, if you can let go and enjoy it the same way you would enjoy an action or horror movie, it becomes a blast! The story goes deeper than you expect and the art is phenomenal. This is a great start to Big Rig!
