Catch up with DC x Sonic the Hedgehog: Metal Legion #2!
The Story
Last time we left Doctor Eggman and Lex Luthor, they had successfully captured DC’s mightiest heroes and their Sonic the Hedgehog Universe counterparts. In a plan that the two evil geniuses made up together. They put the heroes in an impossible situation where they would never be able to escape on their own. What Luthor and Eggman didn’t know was that there were many secret plans at play, behind the scenes. Eggman had his own plan, Luthor had his own plan, and even some other characters had a secret backup plan just in case. Now that the heroes were put away, it is time for the characters’ true colors to show.
Ian Flynn continues to make this story a chaotically good time. The DC characters and their Sonic counterparts have excellent chemistry together and work very well off of each other. Even when executing a plan against the heroes while having a secret plan against their own partner, Lex and Eggman even work extremely well together.
What I love about DC x Sonic the Hedgehog: Metal Legion #3 is that SO much happens in this issue. It felt like there were two issues put into one, and yet, it still had fantastic pacing and great flow from beginning to end.
The Art
The artists continue to make the artwork fit the quality of the story, and that’s saying a lot. Inside the comic, there are so many different characters, all that have their own time to shine without watering down the surrounding characters. The artwork is wrapped in excellent linework which is accompanied by vibrancy and great shadow work. The lettering is phenomenal work, as you’re able to feel each emotion of every character, and the emotions are high in this issue. Together, the artists brought this story to life in a stunning way once again!
Final Thoughts
DC x Sonic the Hedgehog: Metal Legion #3 is pure fun all the way through. From the DC characters and their Sonic counterparts, to the secret plans put into place, there is not one thing to dislike about this run. Quite the opposite! It’s a wildly good time with so much to love!
