We are in the Age of Revelation. Last we saw Laura Kinney, she was desperate. She sent her son to be with her estranged siblings. This was for his own safety. Unfortunately this was not what Revelation wanted. We end with Laura being none too pleased about someone spying on her. She may have changed her name to Sabretooth, but she’s still a Wolverine, and a Wolverine does what they need to protect the ones they love.

The Story for Laura Kinney: Sabretooth #2
As Revelation sends Laura on a mission, he quickly changes her mind about what’s best for her son. Laura has always been about saving mutants, and he seems to use that to his advantage. Off Laura goes with others, to “save” mutants. They’re protecting them for their own good, whether they like it or not. This includes her siblings and son. As this “rescue mission” does not go as she sees it should, Laura begins to unravel and question what’s happening. Then as one door closes, another ambush begins.

The Art
A mutant apocalypse future, the Age of Revelation, could not be more beautiful. From the past, to the present, to a portal, the art and colors are gorgeous. However, what always impresses me the most, are the expressions on our characters’ faces. They can convey so much storytelling on one simple eye, or lip curl. Throughout this run we see fear and determination. Especially Laura who generally seems confident in her decisions, yet now you can see the turmoil on her face.

Overall Grade: 9/10
X-Men: Age of Revelation is in full swing across the Marvel universe. Sides have been chosen, and the resistance has begun. However, the sides seem off. Families torn apart, and decisions seem shady. There’s more at play here, and we got a glimpse as to what, or who in this issue. I’ve been loving Erica Schultz’s Laura Kinney, and that love doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon. If you haven’t jumped on the X-Men: Age of Revelation train yet, no time like the present. SNIKT!
