Sailing the High Seas
The ThunderCats are stuck between the pirates that captured them and the sea monster Scylla. As the Cats out smart the pirates and make them the meal for Scylla, they commandeer the pirate ship and send Captain Hammerhand off on the skiff. The Cats find land, but Ligon is in bad shape from an infection he got from a wound from Scylla. Pumyra stays to nurse him, as Lynx-O and Neko go off to find food. However, in this barren land, finding food may be the smallest problem they face.
A Desert Wasteland
The Lost Team has jumped out of the frying pan and into the fire this issue. Ed Brisson does an excellent job of keeping the reader in suspense as our heroes seem to go from one bad situation to the next. At the same time the action and constant threat of Scropius really add some great layers to the story. The only concern for this issue is it borders on too much going on. Instead of building more suspense and concern from the reader, by the end it feels a tad overwhelming. Not enough to ruin the story, but something to keep an eye on going forward.
The artwork featured in this issue is excellent and beautifully captures the story’s lively tone. Rapha Lobosco does a great job depicting the action in this issue, bringing to life the struggles the Cats are going through. With keen attention to detail, Lobosco expertly sharpens the story’s vision and brings it vividly to life. The artwork’s colors and lettering enhance its impact, effectively conveying emotion to the audience.

Final Thoughts
ThunderCats: Lost #7 really ups the ante for the Lost Team and puts them in super compromised positions. As their survival is threatened and it seems like the world is closing in on them, it really sets up some interesting conclusions. My only holdback is its overwhelming nature, which may not even be a big deal depending on what is next. If you are looking for a solid series, look no further and give it a shot if you are not already reading it.
Overall Grade: 8.5/10
