As Deadpool and Wolverine take turns not being in control, the true culprit behind it all finally became clear. As they face an Apocalypse size problem the last we saw Marvel’s favorite besties, Maverick had just flown in to join the party.

The Story for Deadpool / Wolverine #7
With a failing host, a still controllable Wolverine and a huge stockpile of stolen mutant DNA, Apocalypse is not ready to throw in the towel. While Logan takes his turn being controlled, Wade and Maverick go off on a side quest. Some exploding zombies and a few butt jokes later, and they’ve realized their task may be more difficult and with bigger ramifications than expected.

The Art
Flying skeleton dragons, western zombies, and beautifully colored explosions. The art throughout this issue and this run has been beautiful and action packed. Whether we’re in a lab or the wilderness, the details are spot on. Furthermore, the expressions on everyone help further the feel of the story. Anger, shock, happiness, evil plotting… I love when you can truly see the feelings of a character written across their face.
Overall Grade: 8.5/10
As the story continues Wolvie and Wade can’t seem to catch a break for long. Every glimmer of hope seems to backfire. I’m loving how this story is incredibly intense and continues to grow while Wade maintains his smart ass demeanor and Logan maintains his gruff, I hate everyone, attitude. When not being controlled, of course.
I can’t get enough Deadpool & Wolverine, and this run is the perfect fix. Action, gorgeous art, a fantastic story, and butt jokes. It has it all.
