The Return of Love
The issue opens with Al reunited with his love Wanda. As he experiences the bliss of her return, he follows her directions. But is it really Wanda or is it someone or something that is trying to get to Al? The better is question is will it work?
At the same time Nyx is getting her army ready for the takeover of heaven. Noting that they need to get Al on board as he is the key to unleashing her ultimate weapon. As the attack is coming to fruition, there starts to be some weird things happening on earth.
The Attack is Coming
Todd McFarlane continues to escalate the big invasion storyline with this issue. The emotions ran high with the “return” of Wanda and subsequent reveal of what was really going on. Add to that the progression of Nyx’s war on heaven, and you really get the feeling that things are about to boil over.
The art in the issue is that classic epic Spawn art. The character designs are top tier and feel super epic. The art team is in complete sync with each other and every panel shows that. Spawn is 363 issues in, and it still sports some of the best art in all comics.
