Who is in the Grave

Father Stygian goes to the hospital to check in on Father Barrera and Maru’s family. We find out that her son Alex is doing fine and regaining health after the possession. None of what happened is sitting well with Father Stygian as he has never seen anything like this before. He now suspects that things will be getting much more dangerous.

Mura mentions to Father Stygian that he should not make the same mistake he did with Father Varden with Father Barrera. He needs to teach him faster and not protect him. Speaking of Father Varden, after what Alex said Stygian and Barrera go to his crypt to see if his body was still there. Now the plot line has thickened and the Father’s and Mura’s family are in grave danger.

Ain’t No Grave Can Hold Varden Down

Issue three ramps up the story and really straps you in for a hell of a ride. Gus Moreno is bringing the fire to this world. As suspense builds up, so don’t the thrills and surprises. Making an intriguing story that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat.

The art looks modern and really makes the reader stop and enjoy every panel. The earthy tones and simple pallet don’t over stimulate your senses yet still are very pleasing. Jakub Rebelka is doing some really awesome and innovative things with the art in this book.

Final Thoughts

When I Lay My Vengeance Upon Thee #3 mixes terrific storytelling and amazing art to bring the reader a full experience. This is a series you should not be sleeping on, and if it’s not already on your Pull List, you should add it now.
