The Story for Issue 3

In Akihiro’s short life, he has known so much pain. Murdered by Sabretooth on his father’s birthday (Victor always makes sure that Logan has an unforgettable birthday), and resurrected as the Hellverine. He wants to stop this hell that is spreading. The person he sought for help, gives him only words of wisdom and a special kind of book to fight the evil. Akihiro then heads to where his pain first began: his birthplace. However, the hell he faces there is worse than his darkest fears, as well as something he has always wished for.

The Art

Whether you’re enjoying a full on lit up Hellverine, or turning your head at the mutant horrors that have occurred in this issue, the art is nothing but fantastic. Throughout this journey you can also always see the fear, sadness, and confusion on Akihiro’s face. While still enjoying amazing details and colors. The last two pages took it up an even higher notch. The shock and the art combined made for a perfect moment to hype me up for the next issue!

Overall Grade: 10/10

Hellverine #3 was an amazing comic from beginning to end. It has backstory, supernatural influences, mystery, action, and more. Akihiro’s origin story is incredibly tragic, but he’s come a long way. There’s still good in his heart no matter the hate and literal evils inside him. As this story unfolds it continues to surprise me, while sprinkling in new characters I didn’t see coming. If you’ve ever enjoyed any sort of Wolverine story, then this is absolute must read. I gotta give this one 10 out of 10 SNIKTS!
