The Story for Issue 3

Benjamin learned his father was the world’s greatest villain when he was just a child. Since then, he’s done everything to keep his own family safe, and to not turn into his father. Recent information has since caused Napoleon Archimedes (AKA “Pop”) to reach out. He wants to meet the grandkids and goes about this in the absolute most supervillain way imaginable. However, the true purpose behind him extending an incredibly evil olive branch, is still not completely clear.

The Art

Every story in the world of Minor Threats has been different, but beautiful. Each telling their own story inside this ever growing universe. Benjamin is a sad guy fighting demons from the inside out, and the art in The BROOD portrays that perfectly. All the while there are so many details better allowing for a full immersion of the story through the art.

Overall Grade: 9/10

The more I get to know this family, the more I weirdly fall in love with them. That said, I want to know more. Family dynamics are so interesting, and throwing in villainy and super powers just adds extra levels of trauma. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen childhood trauma in the world of Minor Threats. Each time it’s incredibly different and fun to watch spiral.

All in all, I have to give The BROOD #3 a 9 out of 10. If you still haven’t picked up a comic book from the world of Minor Threats, this is the absolute best time to do just that.
