Masumi

Masumi was one member of the Family I was really torn on as we haven’t gotten too much information on, but what we have gotten from her has been extremely compelling. It seems that vibe will continue with her character as we got to know more about her.

Tonight is the night of Masumi’s big art exhibit, and while she’s excited, everyone else is on their toes. The humans walk on eggshells on a regular basis around the Family, but what can they do when she expects critiques on her artwork? Do they tell her they’re true thoughts and risk their lives process? Do they lie and say they love it and she’s a phenomenal artist to guarantee themselves that they live another day? It’s an unfair position to be in but luckily Etienne is there to make sure everything stays ethical.

VOTE IN THIS YEARS’ CHEERSIES!

I found The Power Fantasy #4 to have an impressive amount of character building while furthering along the story. Learning more about Masumi only made me want to know every single thing about her, as I feel there’s so much more to her character. I enjoy how Etienne is the constant in every book, and continues to prove just how calm, yet sinister, he is.

The person I truly sympathized with was Isabella, as she’s the one character who’s in a truly unfair position. To be a human, in love with Masumi, knowing full well Masumi could destroy her at any given moment is risky at best.

The Creative Team

Kieron Gillen does another excellent job with this exciting run. The Power Fantasy is only on it’s fourth issue and it already has so much built into this world. The storyline and the characters are so very compelling, you can’t help but stay hooked to each character’s story. I really am enjoying learning more and more about the Family members and their dynamics.

Kieron Gillen, Caspar Wijngaard, and Clayton Cowles are absolutely a dream team and the perfect team for this story. Caspar Wijngaard brings the characters to life with his art, making each character very unique from the other’s. Clayton Cowles does a fantastic job with the lettering of The Power Fantasy #4, making each sentence pack even more of a punch. Another beautifully done issue by the team!
