Ewoks #1:
The Death Star is no more, and the Empire is defeated, but there remain scraps of imperial interest amongst the forest moon of Endor. Imperial remnants head to the moon searching for a secret weapons cache and may be in for more than they bargained for. The battle-tested Ewoks stand ready to defend their home and rid the Empire in this all-new mini-series!

The Art:
It is exciting to return to Endor as it is one of the most iconic places in all of Star Wars. The team brings us right back with a luscious array of forest and green. It is something that we can almost close our eyes and smell as though we are there ourselves. One of the fun aspects in the art is how we get to see so many various Ewoks of all different colors and wearing various attire. It gives them personality and a depth that the films never quite did.
MORE STAR WARS!
More so, we get to explore this planet and are treated to a new species of Ewok and different creatures. It further deepen the lore. The art is beautiful and instantly transports us to the moon in an air of familiarity. Joe’s lettering allows each Ewok to have a different voice and an almost sophisticated style of speaking, giving them personality and individuality.
The Writing:
The story is one of excitement. Seeing Ewoks back in action is not something we probably ever thought would happen, and so Steve’s direction and added depth to the mythos bring about fun and adventure. The Empire is in tatters, but still, their admirals have arrogance about them, and the hired guns even more so. Adding in new species and dangers is another exciting layer to what this story will give us. I cannot wait for more as an avid fan.
Overall:
Ewoks #1 transports us back to a familiar setting with a familiar friend and foe. The Ewoks now have individuality about them, which intrigues the reader as we learn more about their species. The forest moon is ripe for adventure and this should be one Star Wars fans immediately grab from the shelves!
9/10!
