The Story for The Rocketfellers #8

We kick off in ancient Rome with someone hiding in the Time Zone Witness Protection program, only to find himself almost lunch for a lion. However, this isn’t the only past we see. Back to the 25th century we see another glimpse into the past of the Rocketfellers. An ambitious futuristic family, yet incredibly relatable to a family today. Balancing work and kids, and life. We see a close, but imperfect family. We also see another glimpse of how this “normal” 25th century family became predator and prey.

The Art

From ancient Rome, to the future, and the present. Each scene was beautifully portrayed. While the past and present can be recreated, the future cannot. We don’t just see futuristic technology, but also homes and people. All incredibly detailed orientated to the point you get lost in the story as if this future is certain. The art continues to tell the story of The Rocketfellers, while capturing the emotions of each person so perfectly.

Overall Grade: 9/10

Families are complicated. You love them, you fight with them, and you can’t live without them. Even when you try. This comic from Family Odysseys at Ghost Machine, has truly captured this truth with an incredibly fun sci fi, time traveling twist. With each issue we go deeper into what’s going on, and why. All while creating more mystery that pulls you further into the story. Every issue of The Rocketfellers manages to perfectly balance family drama with a sci fi action punch.
