The Story for The New Space Age #1

As a kid Mark saw his brother get taken. By what though, there seems to be some questions. As an adult he’s determined to bring him home. No matter the cost. When everything fails he turns to his childhood best friend, whose love of magic opens up a whole new world of possibilities in pursuing his mission. While listening to authority and lassoing cows aren’t Mark’s strong suits, he does seem to be getting somewhere. He’s just not sure where that somewhere is just yet. However, it’s one small step for a cow, and one giant leap for Mark Mitchell.

The Art

This story took us from the farmlands of America all the way to space. Whether we were seeing an explosion in space, or a stunned look from a farmer, the art killed it. There is a serious element to this story, but it’s still a hell of a lot of fun, and the art does a beautiful job of balancing it all. It keeps us sucked into the story, while still showing the seriousness of the situation, and manages to maintain a sense of light-heartedness.

Overall Grade 9.5/10

The New Space Age intertwines a science fiction story with the supernatural in such a perfect way, that it surprised me I hadn’t heard this theory before. Combining these sci-fi and supernatural elements while still maintaining a beautifully tragic and human story, makes for an absolutely fantastic comic. There were even some laughs and fun sprinkled throughout. I cannot wait to see where this story takes us!
