Last we saw Frankie Follis, AKA Playtime, her secret was exposed, her lover caught her slipping, and her role as Queenpin of Redport came crashing down. Well, chronologically at least. The last comic she was in was Archie VS. Minor Threats. However, those events take place before Minor Threats: The Fastest Way Down, where Frankie’s life came crashing all around her. Now she’s back and ready for a new mission.

The Story for Minor Threats: The Last Devil Left Alive #1
We kick off by catching up with Frankie’s ex-lover and business partner, Scalpel. She took over where Frankie left off. With the help of Cooper Scadlock she’s taking out her enemies and finding her way to the top. However, she never stopped thinking about, or wanting to murder Frankie.
Suddenly Scalpel is face to face with a stranger who is eerily familiar. Followed by an enemy that is all too familiar. The new issue facing Redport goes deeper than Scalpel realized, and it’s going to take teamwork to stop what’s happening. A dirty word for someone who relishes in solitude.

The Art
As with all the Minor Threats comics that have come before, the art is gorgeous, gruesome, and perfect. Scalpel’s medical superpower comes with such beautiful art work. She can visualize an injury, that is literally spelled out in the body. A perfect example of how this world can be both beautiful and gross while moving the story along seamlessly.
Overall Grade: 9/10
Another dark and twisted story from the world of Minor Threats. Organized crime, insanely unique super powers, ex-lovers who never got closure, and a group of misfits who don’t stand a chance. What’s not to love? Issue 1 looks to be setting up a serious plot, while still staying true to the humor, and filth, with a sprinkle of meta, that I’ve come to love from these comics.
With various other stories in this world, they’ve all been stand alone, but connected. We wrapped up this issue with a few “nods” to other comic runs, and a tease to one big character that seems to be the only one who can connect some dots.
