Fate brings the combustible killers Layla Blaze and Slater together at a concert in town. As the sparks fly between the pyro killers, a club full of concert goers don’t know they are in danger. At the same time, Audrey and Bruce find help as Laura pulls up in her ambulance. The three of them go to the police station, but all they find is the massacre left behind by an unknown assailant. As the killers start to eliminate each other, the carnage is hitting all-time highs.
Burn it Down
This issue takes an unexpectedly positive turn. A love affair between killers was not what anyone would’ve expected, but here we are. Jordie Bellaire does a wonderful job of bringing this pyro-infused relationship to life. Bellaire also highlights the effects and survival of the townspeople in this crazy situation and really brings a sense of hopelessness to the survivors. The horror and confrontation in this issue are some of the best in this series so far.
The art in this issue is fantastic and really encapsulates the story. Claire Roe keeps the punk rock art style going, adding her own flare to it. The kill scenes in this issue are simply amazing and really take this series to the next level. Jordie Bellaire compliments the art perfectly with the color choices, well continuing the series bold color scheme.
