Paging Nurse Pete
As the evening goes on the families settle in more as they view whose killer is leading the pack. Virginia seems to be very pleased as Nurse Pete is on his way to the local hospital to up his body count. Our paramedics, Laura and Ian, have unknowingly aided Nurse Pete by giving him a ride. Now, their circumstances have changed significantly, as they must focus on survival while also understanding that their actions have affected the outcomes for others.
Well Nurse Pete is causing carnage at the hospital, Pretty Boy is also plotting his next move, although another killer may have found him. We also finally get to find out where Lady Carolina has been, and the toll her involvement in the competition is having on her twin sister, who is being harassed by other families. Lastly, we catch up with Xavi, who just wants to find Craig, but only finds more nightmarish scenes around them.
The Bracket Narrows, as the Points Add Up
Issue three does an excellent job of bringing the reader closer to the minds of the characters that are featured. Pornsak Pichetshote does a great job of humanizing characters and letting the reader get an insight into their emotions.Pichetshote includes significant elements of violence and horror in the issue, featuring a scene that suggests unsettling events may have occurred. The only flaw in this book is its slightly uneven pacing, which is noticeable but doesn’t significantly affect the story’s quality.
The art in this book is great and matches the tone of the story perfectly. Valentine De Landro does a superb job bringing the story to life with the art. The backgrounds, characters, and scenes effectively enhance the story’s horror. Jordie Bellaire enhances the art with their color choices, which makes the art stand out. The choice of the darker colors really shows the despair of the situation that is playing out on the page.

Final Thoughts
Exquisite Corpses #3 moves the story forward, well pushing the envelope. The story is ballsy and very suspenseful in the classic horror sense, with the art really complimenting the story seamlessly. As the series progresses, it increases in intensity and may appeal to readers interested in this genre. Make sure this series is on your Pull List and pick up a sweet variant cover as well.
Overall Grade: 9/10
