A Tale of Two Towns
There is a small town named Hearth, and it is a beautiful place to live. However, in a parallel dimension there is an almost identical town of Hearth as well. The biggest difference between the two is whereas Hearth-One is a nice place to live, Hearth-Two is in rubbles. As Hearth-Two gets worse and some of the citizens start to die, the surviving townspeople decide to gamble on their survival to find an exit to another dimension as a last stitch effort. To everyone’s joy after a long journey they find the passage.
As the citizens of Hearth-Two flood into Hearth-One, the citizens of One welcome them in as they follow the town motto “Love Thy Neighbor”. However, as time goes on and the strain of having a larger population starts to affect the townspeople and resentment sets in. As the little cracks become bigger, the Hearth-One citizens start to push the visitors out and treat them like sub-humans. As the citizens of Hearth-One lose their way and their civility, the citizens of Hearth-Two have lost everything again.
Love Thy Neighbor
Assorted Crisis Events #3 tells a tale of civility and how easy it is for good people to lose their way. Deniz Camp does an impeccable job of telling the reader both sides of the story. Telling the story from the Hearth-One point of view and then following with what is happening for real on the Hearth-Two side. This gives the reader a perfect perspective on the events that are unfolding, well not confusing the reader either.
The art in this book is very good and gives the reader a distinct view of each town. Eric Zawadzki does an excellent job with designing two similar towns well at the same time giving them their differences. Jordie Belaire compliments this by giving each town their own distinct color palette. Also, big shout out to Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou who does an awesome job with the lettering and makes it easy to read and follow the story.
