A Real Nightmare
As Doctor Fleischer continues his research, his dark secret is still intact. He meets with Mr. Barnaby in secret to plan their next hunt. That hunt just happens to be Vin. As they entrap her, she soon discovers the monstrous creation of the Doctor. Oddly enough the monster spares Vin, which disappoints the Doctor.
Escaping with her life Vin goes in search of the only person that will help her, Detective Hannover. As she searches for the Detective no one believes her story and looks at her crazy. She eventually learns the Doctors identity and sets out to confront him. Instead, she is saved by his assistant, who tells her that the Detective may be in the wasteland that used to be Times Square.
Vin sets off to Times Square to search for the Detective. At the same time the Doctor is on the hunt for more specimens to perfect his monster. Vin ends up locating the Detective who has seen better days. But now they are both in peril.
Spare Parts Everywhere
Warm Fusion #2 is a fever dream of a story that will make the reader question everything. Scott Hoffman crafted a story that is as mysterious as it is crazy. Just when you think you have a grip on what is going on, bam three sixty in the opposite direction. The mystery builds a good amount of suspense which keeps you on the edge of your seat.
The art in this issue is simply stunning. The cyber punk influence can be seen throughout the issue, with a sprinkling of some H.R Giger inspired art. The character design created by Alberto Ponticelli feels like its straight out of a Lovecraft novel. The colors are dark and desolate when the mood is down, and vibrant and neon when the mood is lighter. Genius color pallet from Lee Loughridge for sure.
