Toxie’s Last Stand
We get a flashback to cover more of the long-lasting feud between Melvin and Bonehead. As we return here and now our heroes are preparing for their final stand. Unfortunately for them the Alien’s with their mutant warrior Bonehead are preparing too. Although our heroes get the drop on them to get the fight started.
As Toxie and Bonehead square off for their final epic battle. The rest of the crew tries to save the other mutant teens. Bonehead looks like he’s going to take out Toxie, but then Melvin digs deep and delivers the final blow that leaves Bonehead faceless. Our heroes are left to heal, as the enemy must regroup to fight another day. When that day comes, it won’t just be Toxie, but it will be the Toxic Crusaders.
The Toxic Crusaders are Born
The Toxic Avenger #5 is a fitting end for this origin arc in the new Toxie universe. Matt Bors did an excellent job the whole series, and especially in this last issue. Great action, mixed with a really good story, equaled a picture-perfect finish.
The art in this series has been amazing, and in the finale, it was great as expected. The character design by Fred Harper may be the most underrated in all of comics today. Well Lee Loughridge and Rob Steen compliment everything so well. A big bucket of win for the entire art team.
