The Story for Issue 4

As Zach and Rose find themselves on the chopping block for an all you can eat zombie buffet, they’re also wondering what’s happening to their bodies. Not in the health class kind of way. As Zack has a wing, and Rose demon feet, outrunning a hoard of zombies gets a bit more complicated. While creatively navigating this impossible situation, we get more of a glimpse of what has been lingering in the shadows. This social experiment is appearing to have more and more variables the deeper we go.

The Art

You wouldn’t expect a comic book issue with the undead prominently displayed to be so beautiful, but here we are. Surrounded by snow, an almost creepy but calm atmosphere is created. All the while, the hints of fire and color make each page absolutely gorgeous. All to be left with a new face on the last page that leaves you oohing, aweing, and wondering what’s next.

Overall Grade: 9/10

Nothing will bond people quicker than coming face to face with a hoard of walkers. Rose and Zach have known each other forever. While each growing up in very different conditions, they’ve always been connected. However, this was the first we saw them really bond. As they continue on their journey to discover who and what they are, the jury is still out on whether or not their paths will continue together. Hornsby & Halo is a social experiment for the ages, and one that isn’t as simple as it first seemed. I got to give this issue 9 out 10 pawn shop items.
