Heaven and Hell are constantly at war. So what better time for a social experiment in raising children than now. An angel sent to be raised with not so great parents, and a demon sent to be raised with great parents, the experiment has begun. With the end goal being a lesson in empathy and understanding, and ideally ending with no more war. Now the kids have hit the most awkward years of their lives, and changes are happening.

The Story for Issue #2

As the experiment for peace continues, it looks as if not everyone is pleased with this plan. While Rose and Zachary try to make sense of what’s happening to them, outside variables are showing up, and pushing for this peace treaty to fail. The first stone has been cast, there’s inevitably more to follow.

The Art

From the demons in hell, to Zachary’s angelic transformation, to the facial expressions of each character. Every scene is perfectly done to move the story along seamlessly. Not only is the art in Hornsby & Halo incredibly beautiful, the colors are as well. With so much light and fire shown throughout, everything is perfectly illuminated, making each page a work of art.

Hornsby & Halo #2 Rating 9/10

Can you have a true nature verses nurture experiment when supernatural beings are interfering? Only 2 issues in, and I’m loving this. As the kids struggle with who and what they are, they’re also trying to figure out what kind of people they want to be. With many eyes watching, and pushing buttons, they seem to keep surprising those around them. I can’t wait to see them come more into their selves and become their own “people.”

Humans, demons, and angels, oh my. I have to give this issue 9 out 10 halos. If you haven’t entered the world of Ghost Machine yet, there is no better time than the present. ‘Hornsby & Halo’ is a hell of a good time.
