The Story for Issue 3

While Wolverine continues to be ‘hunted’ this issue focuses more on redemption. Wolverine often views himself as his enemies do, never seeming to realize he’s one of the good guys. Struggling to fight his own berserker filled instincts has given him a level of empathy most can’t understand.

With chaos (always) surrounding him, he still fights for what is right, and tries to save those worth saving. Going back to his origin in his first comic book appearance 50 years ago, he once again finds himself up against a Wendigo. However, things are much different this go around.

The Art

There is something extra beautiful about Wolverine in the snow. He seems more at home in the calmness of a snow covered wilderness even when surrounded by enemies. From a Wendigo showdown to fighting Department H, and more, the action in this issue is perfectly done while facial expressions show how much emotion is going on, and it’s not just instinct and rage. The colors of each panel emphasize the action and emotion being depicted to create an even more engaging story.

Wolverine #3 Rating: 9/10

Wolverine’s heart combined with his killer instincts (and sarcastic attitude) make him the loveable mutant he is. Wolverine #3 truly captured the strength that is Logan in both physicality and morals. All while never slowing down on the action, and setting up for an even more brutal showdown. Any and all Wolverine fans will want to add this story to their collection. SNIKT!
