The Story:

With the Avengers dealing with global level threats, Captain America assembles a team of long time Avengers and new comers to take on emergencies as the pop up around the world. Cap and a small crew set off to deal with a dangerous situation while Hawkeye and the rest of the team get reacquainted in Avengers Mansion.

The Writing:

Steve Orlando has done an incredible job with this first issue. Not only, did he write an engaging story filled with excitement and action. He also found a way to bring the story down to Earth by focusing on a bonding moment between new teammates. The easy set up for what is to come and real, human moments between these larger than life characters put this issue over the top. I cannot wait to see what Orlando has in store for these characters that I love and the ones that I look forward to getting to know better!

The Art:

The art team on this issue really set the bar high for the rest of the series. Pencils, inks, colors, and covers were all expertly crafted and melded perfectly together. This team of Avengers and their powers were on full display and they just looked so good! The villains also stood out, especially the surprise on the final page. Just like with the writing, I’m excited to see what this team has in store for us next.

The Verdict: 10/10

This issue was full of everything I love about The Avengers. It had action, humor, thrills, and a sense of family and camaraderie that is necessary for this team to work. If you are a fan of The Avengers you do not want to miss this one!
