Catch up with Sirens: Love Hurts #2!

The Story

Sirens: Love Hurts #3 kicks off and again, the writer, Tini Howard, somehow fits so much chaos into the pages of one comic but still has a perfect flow making everything feel perfectly balanced. As the Sirens try to continue to find Horoscope, they keep turning up empty handed. Every lead they have goes nowhere. That is, until Ivy and Harley explore the secret tunnels aqt the wine shop. From there, Harley and Ivy are lead straight to the home of Horoscope herself. Once they’re in the home, they discover something horrible; Horoscope is planning an attack Sirens at Dinah’s wedding.

Sirens: Love Hurts #3 does a beautiful job at showing how high the stakes are while building up the characters in their own right. What I love that Tini Howard excels at is showing the chemistry of the characters loudly in the story, making it easy to see how well the team works together. The chemistry between Harley and Ivy is off the charts, which is a testament to Tini’s writing talents.

The Art

Babs Tarr, Miquel Muerto, and Becca Carey go out of their way to make this issue full of emotion. Sirens: Love Hurts #3 covers every feeling under the sun such as happiness, passion, jealousy, or annoyance. Babs Tarr does a fantastic job at showing these emotions through the characters, letting their stories speak for themselves.

Miquel Muerto handles the colors, and brings so vibrancy to the pages of the comic, showing that his top quality work in the series is consistent. There are parts of the story that Muerto’s talents shine the most like in Horoscope’s home or at Dinah’s bachelorette party where the colors give an otherworldly feel to the setting. Becca Carey handles the lettering, and provides a perfect flow of dialogue throughout the comic while having the characters portray every emotion of the story.

Final Thoughts

Sirens: Love Hurts gets better and better with each issue that comes out!
