The Story
With how much happens in Sirens: Love Hurts #2, you would think you’re reading two comics’ worth of a story. Tini Howard puts so much into the pages of the comic, but allows a great flow of the story so everything runs smoothly. The team is on the case of Gotham’s serial killer, so we see a lot of great moments from Black Canary, Harley Quinn, Poison Ivy, and Catwoman. The women have their own lives happening, but still have the mystery of the serial killer in their minds.

The Sirens are certain that the villain they’re seeking is Calendar Man, as the timing of the killings and the victim’s birthdays add up. However, Calendar Man himself proves a pretty solid alibi. So then, who could the person they’re searching for possibly be?
With some help from Batman, Catwoman can pinpoint a woman who looks out of the place at the club where the first murder took place. Harley and Ivy piece together the pattern of the killings. Catwoman can find the next victim, and the Sirens head off to find her before it’s too late. Together, the Sirens get as close as they ever can to the villain, who’s already had her eye on them.
The Art
Babs Tarr, Miquel Muerto, and Becca Carey put their talents on full display throughout Sirens: Love Hurts #2. Babs Tarr provides so many striking details on each page, which makes each page hard to take your eyes off of. Miquel Muerto gives a brilliant vibrancy that stays constant on each page, which makes the pages an aesthetic dream. Becca Carey handles the lettering and makes it easy to pick up on the emotions of the characters. Carey also provides an excellent flow of dialogue that carries the story perfectly. Together, the artists truly knocked it out of the park!
