Story Overview:
Bataar has succumbed to a bout of depression as he waits for the inevitable meeting between himself and Ash. This bleeds over into the time he spends with his family, especially his son. Well, this is going on, Ash is helping Loloi get her food truck back to Prospektor so it can be repaired. He sees how the people are digging through dirt looking for any scraps just to get by, well still praising Bataar and this angers him even more. Through some flashbacks we get to see even more of what took place when the Eclipse’s took on and took down the Cinder.
Writing:
This issue jumps back into the main story that we have been waiting to jump more into. Ludo Lullabi does an amazing job of giving us more of the backstory of the Eclipse’s, well showing the emotional despair that Bataar is in. Also revealing the story behind the ghost peppers that Loloi uses in her food. The humor and fun are still in the story, but with enough serious backstory which is moving the story forward to satiate the readers need for it. The only small detraction is the lack of action, but even with that, this issue gets the story back on track.
Artwork:
The art in this book is great and really captures everything going on in the story. Lullabi demonstrates exceptional skill in rendering a vivid and immersive world. The character designs are imaginative and well-executed. The expansive atmosphere effectively draws the reader’s attention and enhances the narrative’s epic quality. Combined with Adriano Lucas’ thoughtful color selections, this establishes an art team that consistently delivers high-quality work.
