Love and War
Loloi’s truck is damaged and needs to be repaired, but at least she is in one piece. Ash, who is over this battle, is ready to just move on and leave this nonsense behind. But Jimney convinces him to help Loloi as Tadka has sent Toggle after her yet again. Toggle, however, professes his love of Loloi to the dismay of Tadka. The anger forces Tadka to make him attack, but the attack is stopped by Ash and Tadka’s plan crashes down.
A Joyride
This issue continues the side story from the last issue and delivers some pretty good humor. Ludo Lullabi does a great job of bringing some humor and levity to the issue. Although the story in this issue is fine, it feels like a filler issue, as this side journey really didn’t need to stretch to a second issue. At no time do you feel that our protagonists are in danger, and furthermore it adds very little to the story as a whole. The humor and fun bail some of these other concerns out, but the filler feel really brings the pace of the story down.
The art in this book is great and really makes up for the loss of pacing of the story. Lullabi does an incredible job of bringing the world to life. The character designs are fun and creative; well, the action sequences look epic. The big feel of everything really attracts the readers eye and makes the story feel epic. Couple that with Adriano Lucas’ color choices, and you have a fantastic art team doing amazing work.

Final Thoughts
Ghost Pepper #4 continues to be a fun and entertaining story. However, this comes at the cost of moving the story forward. The pacing is affected greatly by the continuation of a side quest that really doesn’t feel like it’s moving the story forward. It will be interesting to see what the next issue brings to the series, and if we finally push the story forward. If you are looking for a fun book, this has that base covered. But if you were looking for this story to move forward, sadly that is lacking.
