Game Over, Gamer Kid
We get an update on the remaining six killers still left in the game, as well as the feelings from the families on their chances as of now. We then end up at The Pit where the local youth is throwing one hell of a party, but trouble is on the way and the only one trying to warn them is Mike, but no one takes him seriously. Meanwhile, Gamer Kid is quietly racking up a body count while he is Trick or Treating with Jason and Craig. Gamer Kid starts to unravel leaving not only Craig, but also his “friend” Jason in mortal jeopardy. Just when you thought it couldn’t get any crazier, Rascal Randy finally joins the party!
Hoping Around
This issue really ramps up the story and really starts to show the desperation in not only the games participants, but also for the townspeople who are finding out what is happening. Tyler Boss does a fantastic job of building suspense, well also giving us some gruesome and violent deaths along the way. Boss really ties in a lot of threads that have been going on in the background, setting up for what is to come next. The human element and the emotional connection to the townspeople really shines through in the writing as well.
The art in this issue is awesome and puts an emphasis on not only the horror, but the human element as well. Gavin Fullerton does an excellent job bringing the horror to life depicting some great gore and violence. Meanwhile, Fullerton evokes empathy for the unsuspecting residents who find themselves trapped amid the violence of the killers. Jordie Bellaire enhances the artwork through thoughtful selection of colors, effectively maintaining the series’ bold visual style. Becca Carey brings incredible creativity to the lettering in this issue, which truly stands out and greatly enhances the overall reading experience.

Final Thoughts
Exquisite Corpses #6 continues to have readers on the edge of their seats as the story progresses and gets crazier. The violence and horror are always on point, but where this issue stands out is from the hart shown in the non-killer characters. The ability of a series centered around a killing game—where viewers are encouraged to support the antagonists—to also evoke empathy for potential victims is indicative of the story’s remarkable quality. If you are not reading Exquisite Corpses currently, you should head down to the LCS and pick up this issue and give this series a shot.
Overall Grade: 9.5/10
