Miles Morales has been on a journey from the mainline 616 universe to the new Ultimates universe Earth-6160 in an effort to get his baby sister back from the clutches of The Maker and his forces. He’s met some unlikely allies and fought some interesting foes. But what happens when the memories of the past return? Let’s jump into it!

Ultimate Spider-Man #5 by Deniz Camp & Cody Ziglar (Writers), Jonas Scharf (Artist), Edgar Delgado (Color Artist), VC’s Cory Petit (Letterer) is a great finish to the series that is sure to have ripple effects across two universes.

The Story

The story wraps up very neatly in this issue, but still has some very interesting twists before it all wraps up. Deniz Camp & Cody Ziglar did a really great job putting this story together and making a lasting impact on things to come.

There is a big development for Miles Morales in this issue that should have every fan interested for the future of the character. Also the events of this issue will tie in directly to the next issue of Miles Morales: Spider-Man #39 (on sale in December) & The Ultimates #17 (on sale now).

The Artwork

Jonas Scharf & Edgar Delgado continue to excel with their work in this series. It looks similar to what you’re used to from an Ultimate comic, but still retains some of that Miles artwork. I particularly liked the fight between Miles & Emmanuel Da Costa, as you could really feel the emotion coming through the pages.

FINAL POINT: Camp & Ziglar pen a fitting end to the series, that will send major ripples through two universes that’s sure to have fans talking.

Overall Grade: 9.5/10
