Now this first issue introduces us to Vex, her twin brother Vax, and the Druid Keyleth. The first time we see the twins is when they emerge from a tree. They then are attacked by a fish creature and his shark.

Vax proceeds to get attacked, and this is where we get introduced to Keyleth. She shows up as a squirrel, and then she transforms into her Half-Elf self. After the 3 of them introduce themselves to each other, Keyleth goes and heals Vax.

They all then get into a long conversation, and it ends with Keyleth trying the river water. The twins then go and talk to a man who tells them that a mother and her 2 twins have gone missing. Vex then goes to a potion seller, and can’t get what she is looking for.

The potion maker then gets visited by a mysterious woman asking if his plan with the river is working. The twins then get attacked in an alley, which turns into an incredible fight. The issue ends with Vax asking what Keyleth’s name was.

Final Grade: 10/10

Getting to see the first Volume released as physical issues is amazing. Fans who were unable to experience the story when it was released back in 2017/2018 will now get to see the first adventures of this team.
