The Story for Issue #5

Matt: The conclusion to the first arc of Andy’s story did not disappoint! Michael has created a fun new heroic tale showcasing bravery and a wonderful dynamic between the characters. While we get a conclusion, we’re also left with more answers which I find myself enjoying a set up of more tales to come.

Lauren: The whole town seems to be possessed as Andy, Tamina, and a quickly fading ghost, attempt to save everyone. While, Tamina discovers her father did something truly horrific, Andy realizes how much he truly cares for his new parents. Despite the black demon eyes they currently have. As more is revealed as to who Myles is, more questions arise, than are answered.

The Art

Matt: The art has continuously complimented the tones of this story perfectly. The demons are full of dark shadings and tones making them pop off the page in horrifying detail. On the other side when Andy is in the armor or using his powers it brings to life an exciting tale that brings me back to my childhood with the light tones. The battle sequence was a clash of these tones that fill our eyes with vibrant colors and an epic battle sequence.

Lauren: Throughout these 5 issues of Armored, the art has continued to be absolutely beautiful. These are not your typical ‘POW’ comic book scenes. Each page is like a water color painting coming to life. Complete with vibrant colors that perfectly contrast as each scene progresses. A story about zombies, ghosts, and cursed books should be this gorgeous. However, it is, and it works incredibly well in telling this story.

Armored #5 Rating 9/10

Matt: This is an all ages story that has been fun as well as intriguing. Andy is a young hero with much to learn and the threads that have been laid for us to pull going forward have me excited for the future adventures. Issue 5 ends chapter one of this story and it is ends with a happy and beautiful ending of two groups going through loss and finding love within eachother. You have to check this story out and I cannot wait for more! 9/10!

Lauren: All in all, this story has had a ton of heart, action, and mystery throughout these first 5 issues. As we wrap up issue 5, we’re left with more questions. Questions about Andy, the armor, and his new ghostly BFF’s past. If you’re looking for a fun mystery with demon parents, mysterious ghostly Knights, and some laughs along the way, definitely add Armored to the pull list. I give this issue 9 out of 10 Suits of Armor.
