Cardinal Mancini is dead, and the riveting cat-and-mouse chase continues between Vieri and Legion! This issue puts us in a desperate battle between life and death as the evil demon seeks to end Vieri.

Issue #4 delivers an explosive continuation, leaving us on the edge of our seats. Will this be where the wretched Legion meets his doom?

The Art:

Alex was easing us into his bag in the previous issue, but issue #4 is really when he pulled out all of his talents. This issue is beyond visually stunning. As the chase continues, blends of oranges with black and purple melt together to please the reader’s eyes.

The standouts, however, are the panels where Legion calls upon his armies and allows Alex to create demons and bring about panels that strike fear into us. There is a page where a demonic army stands at the ready while cutouts flood the page in deep, bloody red and create such an exciting action sequence. Keep an eye out for Alex as he is beginning his big breakout in the art game.

The Writing:

Pepose, what else can we say about him at this point? There is a reason he is everywhere we see. His story hits its stride as we turn from pure horror into adventure. How he has written the game of wits between Legion and Vieri keeps us on the edge of our seats with intrigue.

The entire issue is very well written. Maria is a standout in this issue as she evolves from a sidekick to a savior, showcasing her ability to get out of dodge and hold her own.

Overall:

We began telling a horror story and have transformed genres, which is a testament to Alex and David’s ability at storytelling. Mad Cave has a banger on its hands, and once more people discover this tale, it won’t be long until we watch this on the big screen. Every month, this story should be on your pull list. It’s Indiana Jones meets Tom Hanks in Davinci Code meets The Exorcist. What more can you want?
