The Rocketfellers #14 – “Invaders Ya’ll” Part One

In the world of Ghost Machine Pro, the Rocketfellers are an all-American family ripped from the twenty-fifth century and dropped into our world today. Dad is still missing, their Aunt is still suffering from amnesia regarding her villain arc, and they all recently met the world’s richest kid.

The Story for THE ROCKETFELLERS #14

This week’s issue wastes no time sucking us into the action, as we see one of the kids get pulled around by a time zone pod piece, like an unworthy person grabbing mjolnir mid air. Their recent adventure with Hornsby & Halo, in the last issue, led to them learning that their dad is in neither heaven nor hell, so he’s got to be somewhere. An adventure to find him is brewing, and this time zone pod piece seems to be assisting.

This issue also introduces us to a literal alien family adjusting quite well to a life in Tennessee. However, it’s not all football and fishing. They crash-landed, and much like the Rockefellers, they still have work to do. As we see both of these families try to answer questions they don’t know, we meet a couple more new people. People who are trying to solve their own mystery.

The Art

This issue immediately threw some amazing art at us. As Richie is sailing through the sky, there isn’t a single spot on the page that is not perfectly done. You see the fear and determination on his face, as well as a couple of leaves. Whether he’s sailing through the trees, by a lake, or right through the neighborhood, the details, colors, and lettering are all spot on. With the introduction of some new, unfamiliar faces, we also got some almost creepy, yet beautiful moments. This art got me very excited for what’s to come.

The art in The Rocketfellers always makes me go ” ooh, and ahhh, and this issue was no exception. Every single page was truly a work of art. Even the one where someone was about to hurl.

Final Thoughts

The Rocketfellers have never forgotten what their one true goal has been, and always will be: protecting their kids. Despite this issue being a fantastic story introducing more mystery and new faces, it’s still authentic. Mom still worries and puts her kids above everything. I truly love that about this comic. It makes this time-traveling, monsters, aliens, demons, and angel world feel more grounded and relatable. I’m very excited to see where we go from here, as the Rocketfellers’ world is definitely growing, and based on those last couple of pages it’s about to get even more chaotic.

Overall Grade: 9.5/10

With 14 issues in, and crossover stories just kicking off, this is the perfect time to dive into The Rocketfellers. It’s a sci-fi, time-traveling, mysterious story with incredibly relatable characters.
