Catch up with DC x Sonic the Hedgehog: Metal Legion #3!
The Story
Dr. Eggman and his Metal Legion show what they’re made of in DC x Sonic the Hedgehog: Metal Legion #4 and I have to say, they are a much bigger problem than I assumed. Seeing the Sonic characters from their own universe team up with the Justice League, I thought surely they would have this battle in the bag. However, Dr. Eggman has more than a few tricks up his sleeves, ones even Lex couldn’t think of himself. Dr. Eggman seizes the opportunity to show just how thoroughly he’s thought through his plans, but little does he know, the Justice League and the Sonic team has a few tricks up their own sleeves.
If you haven’t dived into this run yet, there’s no time like the present. It’s the best of both worlds, the DC World and the Sonic the Hedgehog world with all the iconic characters to go with it. The next issue is the last issue and I cannot tell you how disappointed I am to see it finish, but I think that speaks to what an incredible job the creative team has done so far.
The Art
Adam Bryce Thomas and Matt Herms continue to impress with their ability to mash up these wildly different characters and make them blend together harmoniously. The detailing work in every character is flawless, highlighting what makes them stand out on their own. The colors are beautifully vibrant with excellent uses of contrasting colors. This issue also has fantastic lettering work that captures the personalities of each character that practically makes you hear their voices in your head. All in all, the artists showed up and showed out in this issue.
Final Thoughts
This is what I love about comics. The excitement, the team ups that you’d never think you’d see, and the fun of it all. The creative team really captures those elements and has the most fun with it and it’s clear to see.
