Raymond, Giuseppe & Agustin all created beautiful art for this issue. I love how each of them take their specific pages, and then weave them together to make them all look cohesive. Arif’s coloring and Troy’s lettering help tie all of the beautiful art together.Â
Mark’s writing on this issue is so phenomenal. He has taken this classic comic and added a wealth of fresh new content to it. He has written these characters so well, and I love where everyone is going in the series. He has also built a world that is so approachable for new readers, but still feels familiar for long-time fans of the series.Â
Now this issue sees Jackie still dealing with the events that transpired in the previous issue. But he is also harboring a secret from Jenny, which is not a good thing to be doing at all. Jackie finds himself in a multi-page fight, which looked and flowed so well. But the issue ends at a chess match in the park, with a surprising reveal.Â
Overall Grade: 10/10
If you still haven’t checked out The Darkness yet, this needs to be on your radar IMMEDIATELY. The art and story flow so well together, and it’s a series that every comic book fan will love.
