Alyssa Wong does an incredible job taking Boba Fett through his final bounty mission with you, the reader, in the passenger seat. The opening scene of this story takes you to a school within the Empire. You are introduced to the niece of Governor Tarkin, as she boasts about her success within the program. It is after this that this multi-layered story truly begins.

Boba Fett is hired to bring to the Tarkin family an individual who has unjustifiably wronged them. This is where the reader is introduced to Raslin Grace, who is also a well-regarded bounty hunter. Raslin is surprisingly wanting to “team up” with Fett. Fett negates that offer, causing more trouble for him as the story goes on.

Boba Fett continues with his bounty, only to have another run-in with Raslin. Little does she know, this encounter with Fett wasn’t by accident. He somehow knew that the individual they were hunting would be essentially going after Raslin, and that individual is The Shadow of Bri-Phrang.

Through the enchanting artwork of Sara Pichelli, is where you see the brilliance within the battle panels. The blaster fire, jet pack exhaust, and fluid motion of knives in the air. The use of different tones to help deliver the dialogue between characters is phenomenal. All these things collide to a suspenseful conclusion of the story, which you will have to pick up to find out!

The Art

The art by Sara Pichelli is fluid but gritty at the same time. Amazing use of hard lines mixed with impeccable shading/shadowing with the main three colors: black, white, and red. The attention to detail in regard to buildings, armor, and facial expressions is spot on in delivering this story.

Final Thoughts

This is an incredibly enjoyable read! As I said in my opening statement, this story has action, suspense, drama, and mystery. This is a true Star Wars story! I will say that I am sad that this is the closing chapter of this miniseries. And I feel strongly about that because it ends in suspense. If you are a fan of Star Wars, I highly recommend and encourage you to pick up this entire series!
