Hello there! Padawan J here, the resident Star Wars expert from the ODPH! This week I’m going to be reviewing 2nd issue of the mini-series Boba Fett: Black, White & Red from Marvel Comics!
This is the second of 4 issues and keeps up the action & pace of the first one. It’s a unique series because just like it’s predecessor’s, it only uses THREE colors. Those colors are black, white & red! It’s always a fascinating series when Marvel does it, and so far this series is no different! So let’s jump into it!
Star Wars: Boba Fett – Black, White & Red #2 by Saladin Ahmed (Writer), Ramon Rosanas (Artist) & VC’s Joe Caramanga (Letterer) is another tremendous issue in the series that is action packed in both story & artwork!
The Story
Saladin Ahmed does an incredible job with the story in this issue that is just so much fun to read. Much in the same way Benjamin Percy did with issue 1, it’s a simple but effective story but it works so darn well. We get to see Boba Fett doing what he does best, and that’s tracking down a bounty.

He’s just as intimidating as you would expect and just exudes that cool confidence you know & love. My favorite part of the issue is when someone Fett is working with isn’t fully aware of who he’s working with and is told, “BOBA FETT ISN’T A BOUNTY HUNTER…HE’S THE BOUNTY HUNTER.” And that just perfectly sums up who Boba Fett is!
The Artwork
Ramon Rosanas does an incredible job with the artwork in this issue. As I said before, the only three colors that are available are to use. Despite that, Ramon does a fantastic job with how he uses those colors and still finds a way to to create such dynamic panels from start to finish. This is definitely a book you’re going to want to pause and check out the artwork in greater detail!
FINAL POINT: Saladin Ahmed & Ramon Rosanas both bring their A game for a fun, exciting read that is also a real treasure to look at. This is a very accessible story, and series, to get into as you don’t need to be a super diehard Star Wars fan to enjoy it.
Overall Grade: 10/10
