Writing:
This issue has a lot of moving parts that all make the reader sit up in their seat. Alex Paknadel does an excellent job of showing us all the ways Casey is tugged and the toll it has taken on him. Paknadel walks a fine line of having too much going on, and walks said line masterfully. The hunt to find out about the missing mutants really pushes Casey to his edge well straining his friendships. At the same time finding out about the mutant kidnapper Ludovic and his motivations based on his hatred of mutants, and his loyalty to Mister Marlin adds an interesting layer to the story moving forward.
Artwork:
The art in this issue is great and really brings this world to life. Amancay Nahuelpan does a fantastic job with the character designs and backgrounds. The amount of detail in the characters really brings them to life and shows off their uniqueness especially with the mutants. The color choices made by Luis Antonio Delgado compliment the art perfectly and help draw the readers’ eye to each panel.

Final Thoughts
TMNT: Casey Jones #2 is an incredible continuation of the story that ramps up the action and emotions. The emotional turmoil Casey is going through is only overshadowed by the serious predicament that he finds himself in. The way the issue ends with an awesome cliffhanger really sets up where we will be next issue. This book should definitely be on your list to pick up this week at the LCS.
