Casey Jones is on the mend. Being shot in the stomach by D.A. Hale has left him in a weakened state. But hey, this is CASEY JONES we’re talking about here! He can take the pain and fight through to the end! Right? April and the Turtles don’t think so, and we he runs into the Purple Dragons, he may be in for a rude awakening!

Casey Jones Rides Again!
Wayne Gretzky on steroids is back in the saddle again! Casey Jones kicks off his own series with a splash as he battles nightmares, a gunshot wound, and hulked out Purple Dragons on his first night back on the streets! The plot thickens when he steps in to help a young mutant find her father. It’ll be hard to do because she doesn’t trust anyone, not Casey and not the Turtles. Something about the whole situation seems off, especially when we’re introduced to new antagonist!
TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES #11 – AND THE VERDICT IS…
The down and dirty, ultra violent Casey Jones jumps right back into action in this premiere issue. It’s almost like he hasn’t missed a beat, that is until a Purple Dragon takes a shot of some super mutagen! Casey takes a beating until the Turtles show up and turn the tide! It’s a lot of fun and action packed and when it’s all over we get a great heart to heart with Raph and Casey.
Building Onto the Legend That is Casey Jones!

Paknadel puts us in the street vigilante’s shoes as he deals with the trauma, PTSD, and physical limitations of overcoming a gunshot wound. It’s the dog in Casey that keeps him going, unwavering, not matter the cost. It’s great character work, especially when the Turtles become involved. I love the “bro” attitude that encompasses he and Raphaels relationship. The real talk between the two feels so organic and flows well.
TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES CELEBRATES ITS 35TH ANNIVERSARY!
The action in this one is also cranked up to 11. There is a great opening that foreshadows a dark force on the rise. The payoff at the end is pretty great and we get to see something or someone new, powerful, and intimidating. Definitely worthy to be a problem for Casey and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!
The World Comes to Life for Casey Jones #1
The artwork breathes with the noir of New York City street crime! It has such a classic turtles feel. It’s dark and dirty and brutal. Casey Jones looks AMAZING! The action rolls from panel to panel seamlessly, putting us right in the middle of the action. There’s an intensity to it that just pulls you in. Great work by Nahuelpan and Delgado with bringing it all to life and Robinson for bringing the words from paper to our own theater of the mind!
Overall Grade 9/10
Casey Jones is SO back, baby! This is the Casey I love, stubborn, relentless, and tough as nails. He’s on a mission to prove that he’s still got it. Through all of it, he seems to genuinely care about helping others. It’s a great character issue. The art is fun and exciting. The story looks promising. I can’t wait for more!
