For the Love of Godzilla

A young girl Sherry, who gets bullied by other kids, witnesses a Godzilla attack that takes some of said bullies out. This act makes her fall in love with the King of Monsters. She falls so in love that she runs away to the Deadzone to find Godzilla. However, all she finds is Kai-Sei poisoning that turns her into a literal giant. The Wanderer and the Twins come upon her on their travels. Runt really takes a liking to her and even sparks up a friendship. As the trio spends the night with her, some shadowy strangers have other plans for them.

Giant Tents and Friends

Godzilla: Escape the Deadzone #4 brings some fun to the series and a unique story to boot. Ethan Parker & Griffin Sheridan have truly created a fun and unique world where anything can happen. In this Kai-Sei era this story has really set itself apart from the other titles. If you are looking for a straightforward story that makes sense, you’ve come to the wrong place. However, if you’re looking for a unique fun time, you found your book.

The art in this book is wonderful and really brings the Deadzone to life. Pablo Tunica does an awesome job of bringing the Deadzone to life. The character designs in this book are super cool and give this world a unique feeling. The comedic scenes are fun and come across as something new. The colors make every panel pop and Nathan Widick does a fantastic job bringing out emotions with the lettering.

Final Thoughts

Godzilla: Escape the Deadzone #4 really shows off how fun this series can be. A fun premise throughout the book, that brings the reader back to reality at the end. This is definitely a book for a niche audience, but if that audience is you this is definitely a worthwhile pick up at the LCS.
